Drivers Beware - Seaside Atmosphere Drastically Reduces The Life Of Most Windscreen Wiper Blades

Filed under: Repairs and Maintenance — Admin @ 5:21 am

For most of us it’s a great dream to go and retire by the sea. The attractions are abundant and powerful. Amongst them – unrivalled views, fresh air & lots of social, cultural & outdoor amenities.

However, on the downside, there are also strong salt laden winds which destroy grass, kill off many other garden plants, cause corrosion on cars and anything else made from metal, abrade paintwork and generally provide a quite efficient, source of abrasive material which penetrates any moving parts.

Additionally there are the high levels of ozone which are great for purifying the air, but unfortunately, they also attack any rubber seals around the home or vehicles.

And finally, because the sand, rocks and water at the sea are many times more reflective than many inland or city surfaces, they don’t absorb so much of the ultra violet light which is present naturally in daylight. Therefore, there’s a much higher level of ultra violet light by the sea.

Now, ultra violet light in small regular exposures is actually advantageous to our health, as with ozone, there’s nothing it appears to like better than attacking any natural rubber parts it can sniff out.

Overall this makes clear why rubber Windscreen wiper blades have an even shorter working life than normal when they’re used on a vehicle which lives at the sea. The salt particles grind the rubber and act as grinding particles between the wiper blade and the windscreen. The ozone assails the rubber 24 hours a day, whether the Wiper blades are being used or not, indeed, whether the vehicle is being driven or not. This attack causes the rubber to turn brittle, and its structure to break down. Finally the higher levels of Ultra Violet light also attack the rubber and intensify its stiffening & break down.

Because of the above I always recommend Silicone Windscreen Wiper Blades to anybody living or regularly visiting the seaside, especially people with boats or other interests that take them into closer contact with salt water & sea air. Silicone Windscreen Wiper Blades are totally unaffected by salt, ultra violet and ozone, as well as atmospheric pollution and many solvents contained in cleaning products.

A silicone blade in a traditional wiper blade goes a long way to avoiding the problems caused by life by the sea. However, classic Wiper blades have a metal frame with joints which are also prone to attack by the salt, causing rapid wear and corrosion of the joints. Therefore the ultimate Wiper blades for use near the sea would be silicone Flatblade Wipers, which brings together a one piece jointless frame and a long life silicone blade.

An Unusual Name But An Amazing Law!

Filed under: Repairs and Maintenance — Admin @ 6:59 pm

Every year in California, there is thousands upon thousands of probably lemon law claims each year. But for many, they are still wondering exactly what is the California Lemon Law (Song Beverly Consumer Warranty Act)and how can it help them?

After speaking to so many consumers, we’ve discovered that the thing they fear the most is going against the huge car manufacturers. It can seem like an impossible task. Well, there are many ways that you can fight them and with no out of pocket expense. Read on for more help with the California Lemon Law.

Most people want to know where they begin if they feel they have a lemon law claim. The first thing you should do is to contact the dealer and manufacturer, almost immediately, if you are having a problem with your vehicle. The dealer must make several attempts to repair the lemon vehicle in question. If your vehicle was in the repair shop for at least 30 days (not necessarily one after another) then that vehicle, according to the law, is classified as a lemon.

But there is another way to qualify. Your vehicle is considered a lemon if your vehicle was brought to the dealer more than once to correct a defect that could cause injury or even death if the vehicle is left in the condition it’s in. This will also qualify the automobile under the California Lemon Law.

And if the car that might be a lemon is still under warranty, then you can qualify for this California law. This basically means that even if the vehicle is several years old and came with an extended warranty, then it can still qualify. The amount of time will not suspend this law.

Be conscious that all consumers in the state of California have the right to get a free evaluation for their potential lemon law case from an attorney. They will review the specific facts of your potential case and review your documents. If they determine that you have a legitimate case, I’m sure they would be delighted to represent you and your claim.

Lastly, if you think that a dealership or manufacturer has failed to repair a defect that exists in your vehicle and very many are in violation of this law, then you should contact an attorney that can provide California Lemon Law.

Find an attorney that has a website with a no risk, no obligation form that will give you a free case evaluation. And as was already stated, check and make sure that if you qualify, that attorney will take your case on without any out of pocket expense to you.
